BMCDB Student Award

BMCDB Student, Gordon Walker has been awarded a scholarship by the American Wine Society Educational Foundation (AWSEF) to support his research into a novel prion affecting carbon source utilization during fermentation by S. cerevisiae wine isolates.

Gordon Walker has also recently been awarded the The Best Student Enology Presentation for his “S. cerevisiae Wine Isolates Learn To Bypass Glucose-Associated Repression, Via A Novel Prion Mechanism” talk at the 62nd annual American Society of Enology and Viticulture (ASEV) conference in Monterey, CA.
