UC Faculty Association: Bill Bratton wrong choice for pepper spray probe

In the LA Times, the UC Faculty Association speaks out about UC president Mark Yudof’s choice that former LAPD chief Bill Bratton should lead the investigation of the pepper spray incident at UC Davis on Friday November 18th.

“The office of the president should not be investigating itself in this matter, when one thing that needs to be investigated is what role the office had,” said UC Santa Cruz professor Robert Meister, president of the Council of UC Faculty Assns.

This choice of Mark Yudof will most likely be brought up during the Faculty and Staff Town Hall meeting planned for Tuesday, November 29th and the UC Regents meeting scheduled for Monday, November 28th (the same day a UC wide General Strike has been planned).
